About Pilates |
|
Pilates is a very effective low impact, non-aerobic exercise programme suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It focuses on body alignment and balance, and improves your muscle tone, flexibility and body awareness. It is especially recommended as a means of improving back strength and posture. Pilates was developed over 80 years ago by Joseph Pilates in New York . At first he worked with the City’s finest dancers, but Pilates has since become very popular with many sporting and other professionals. Pilates concentrates on strengthening the core postural muscles. You will learn how to recognize unwanted tension and release it and how to use specific muscles to increase flexibility and mobility. You will find yourself breathing better during the exercises. |

"I have been doing Pilates for 3 years and the effect on me has been amazing. I was very stiff and had very bad posture. I am more supple now, and my posture has improved. I feel good about myself and I know I look different".
